These are really good things for me to read right now. I’m trying to actually *do* something about all the clutter and lack of schedule I have, with an eye to moving to a more bike-friendly area of town in several months when my lease is up. I just started exercising, picking that as my one thing to focus on for the moment, and if I can also get some other stuff cleared away, that’s great. I’m figuring out that this whole minimalism thing is what I have wanted pretty much since college, and just didn’t know how to do it.
I respect it… but it’s not for me. I’m too much of a packrat and scavenger to be a minimalist… but I love the pictures of the apartment/houses that are set up minimalist. Sharp looking, indeed… just something stark about them that prevents that ‘homey’ feel I need. I want toys and dog chews on the floor and whatnots with dust on them. Yup, I do.
